Summer Bishil Bio

 Summer Bishil was born in Pasadena, California. When she turned three years older, her family members relocated to the United States. Summer was a student at British as well as American schools while her family moved abroad. she returned to her home town of Pasadena just shy of her birthday of 14. Summer, who had been fascinated by the thought that she would be an actor since she was five, took her first acting class when she was 14. Nine months after that, she signed with an agent/manager and began her full-time profession. In her spare time, she goes to college and is working towards her degree. Named one of the "Ten Actors To Watch" by Variety (2007). Nominee for Best Actress – Spirit Award. At the age of 14, Bishil began her acting lessons. Within a year, Bishil was signed to an employment contract by a management or agency. Bishil's first performance was on the short-lived Nickelodeon television show Just for Kicks, followed by appearances in several other children's shows.Bishil's most memorable performance was as the lead in Alan Ball's film Towelhead in 2007, which was a re-telling of the novel with the same title. Slate critic Dana Stevens said, "Her performance is the truest thing in a film that despite its best intentions, feels thoroughly phony and mildly embarrassing, like an extended PSA regarding inappropriate touching." Bob Strauss writes for many Los Angeles newspapers and states that Bishil "...is the best natural film actresses ever. In a September 12 Los Angeles Times review, Gary Goldstein stated that Summer Bishil who is who is a "...newcomer has an intense and thrilling performance as Jasira. "In 2009, she filmed Wayne Kramer's project, Crossing Over, starring Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd, a portrayal that received some favorable notice from Associated Press's Jay Reiner. She was chosen to play Azula in M. Night Shyamalan’s film The Last Airbender (2010). The sequel was not made.
