Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation born October 1st 1969) is an American actor, comedian as well as a musician and writer. He was also a guest on Comedy Central Presents and hosted Late World With Zach on VH1. Galifianakis has been a star in many films that include The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010). The Campaign (2012), Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014), and Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis also voiced characters for animated films such as Puss in Boots (2011). The Lego Batman Movie (2017). Missing Link (2019). Ron's Gone Wrong (2021). Galifianakis currently hosts the Funny or Die website talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. He was a regular on FX's television show Baskets. In 2017 his nomination was for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actor in the Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on the 1st of October, 1969. He is the son of community center owner Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and heating oil vendor Harry Galifianakis. His mother is of Scottish-Irish and English heritage, while his paternal grandparents were Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized in the father's Greek Orthodox faith. He has Merritt and his younger sister as well as Greg the older brother of his. The cousin of his Nick Galifianakis (Washington Post cartoonist) is his uncle. Galifianakis was educated at Wilkes Central High School and later went to North Carolina State University where he studied communications. While at university, he worked at a public access station.
